Its graphic silhouette and cannage motif have made it an instantly recognisable icon. Sported by Lady Diana during a trip to the City of Lights, then Marion Cotillard in the ad campaigns, the Lady Dior bag is a synthesis of elegance and timeless Parisian glamour. Its understated geometric form make it the perfect blank canvas and a privileged terrain of expression for adventurous spirits. And so, the house of Dior has invited a clutch of artists to interpret it as they choose…
Between 29th and 31st March, the exhibition “Lady Dior As Seen By” which gave carte blanche to artists to reinterpret this emblematic accessory, is stopping over at Art Basel in Hong Kong. A selection of exceptional works of art, including numerous photographs and sculptures will be unveiled at the city’s Convention and Exhibition Centre. Olympia Scarry, Kate McGwire, Kohei Nawa, and Ren Hwang are among the artists invited to take part in this newest tribute to the powerful link between Christian Dior and the art world.
