John Giorno, Ugo Rondinone, Rick Owens... seventeen contemporary artists take possession of the Versailles gardens until January 17th 2018. In the midst of the legendary bosquets, they deposit their fascinating creations alongside the work of artists from Louis XIV’s court for an exhibition entitled, “Voyage d'hiver”.

For its 10th annual contemporary art exhibition, the Château de Versailles is offering a stroll through the bosquets, fountains and leafy salons that compose its gardens. Seventeen artists linked to the Palais de Tokyo have constructed a flamboyant catalogue of dramatic works to create a “winter journey” inspired by the musical meditation of Franz Schubert. John Giorno, Mark Manders, Cameron Jami, Ugo Rondinone, Rick Owens... these artists have fashioned a “poetic promenade in the Versailles gardens, starting as October’s rusty hues take hold of the foliage,” as the exhibition curators so prettily put it.

“Voyage d'hiver”, 17 contemporary artists in the bosquets of the Château de Versailles, until January 17th 2018.
