The Italian actress Monica Bellucci is the new mistress of ceremonies for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, stepping into the shoes of actor Laurent Lafitte. Far from being a newbie to the red carpet, the actress is something of a regular at the famous international competition, having presented numerous films there including Stephen Hopkins’ Suspicion and the dramatic Irréversible by Gaspar Noé. She was also a member of the Jury in 2006 under the presidency of Wong Kar-wai. We’ll be seeing lots of Monica alongside this year’s jury president Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar.
