Dior, Miu Miu, Christian Louboutin... the fashion collaborations of the week

No weather too extreme to take out the Dior x Mystery Ranch bags
 

Kim Jones pays homage to Monsieur Dior’s passion for nature in his Summer 2023 men’s collection and added a more adventurous side by collaborating with Mystery Ranch, an outdoor brand based in Montana that creates solid bags for adventures in all weather circumstances. Tested for its resistance in the Rocky Mountains, 3 bags and one wallet have been created for the Dior x Mystery Ranch collaboration. A reinvented saddle bag, designed for the outdoor that features a nylon jacquard shoulder strap on which a top band is stitched for attaching various accessories, finished with an aluminum “cd” buckle. A backpack dedicated to urban exploration is the Dior by Mystery Ranch Gallagator backpack and has a y-shaped 3-zip closure system – a signature of the American brand – offering immediate access to its numerous interior storage compartments. All bags are enhanced by a padded surface for optimal comfort in all circumstances and are made of an entirely recycled cordura® re/cor™ nylon 6.6 fabric, resistant and durable, embroidered with a leather crest intertwining the seals of the two houses.

Jimmy Choo collaborating with Naoko Takeuchi for the love of manga

Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi honored the Japanese shojo (girl’s) manga series illustrated and written by Naoko Takeuchi named Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon with an exclusive collaboration for its 30th anniversary. The capsule collection has been created around their shared values of bold individuality, zeitgeist-defining imagery and female empowerment and is embedded within every pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. The capsule collection includes 5 different styles of shoes, each one named after the key characters - the ‘Sailor Guardians’ - of this manga phenomenon. Sailor Moon are knee-high stretch style boots.  Sailor Mercury, glossy leather ankle-boots with a pragmatic and energetic platform sole. Sailor Mars are red pumps with sharply pointed vamp and kick-heel. Sailor Jupiter are sturdy green lace-up leather combat boots with a rubber lug sole and block heel. Last but not least, platform high-heeled pumps with a slender ankle strap finished in vibrant orange satin and flecked with crystals capture have the name Sailor Venus. The mentor cat Luna is represented by an additional bag embellished with crystals and for those who don’t like to wear heels, a pair of sneakers and moccasins are available as well. 

To complete the collection, Jimmy Choo asked the DJ Honey Dijon and Vancouver based DJ/ Producer YuSu to create two original tracks inspired by Sailor Moon. The two exclusive house tracks, ‘Sun’ and ‘Moon’ are inspired by vaporwave sounds and transform just as the Sailor Guardians transform. A limited-edition vinyl will be availables as a gift with purchase, from select global pop-ups.

The Jimmy Choo x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collection will be exclusively available in Europe at Selfridges, from February 14th.
 

De- and reconstructed sneakers by New Balance and Miu Miu 

For the Spring/Summer 2023 season, Miu Miu continued their collaboration with the sneaker brand New Balance. Three new iterations of the brands iconic 574 sneaker are available in fringed blue and marble-effect cognac denim and blanched white leather. Miu Miu’s current mood is reflected in the elements of deconstruction and reconstruction that are seen on the sneakers. 
 

The New Balance x Miu Miu sneakers are available at Miu Miu stores worldwide and online at miumiu.com from end of February 2023.
