In the Earfquake music video released this year, we saw The Creator in a kitsch turquoise suit and a blonde “bowl cut” wig screwed on the head. Keeping this watered down palette, Tyler, the Creator - founder of his Golf le Fleur* label in 2016 - is launching 16 pieces inspired by the tennis wardrobe of the 1980s in collaboration with the French maison Lacoste: polo shirts, jackets, vests and bobs with aquamarine, mascarpone beige and powder pink color-blocks. A capsule collection that takes us for a summer into the enchanted world of Tyler, The Creator’s Californian tennis and where the iconic crocodile is seen here devouring a poppy.
Earlier this year, Lacoste already unveiled a collaboration inspired by the 1980s by featuring the famous colourful characters of New York designer, painter and sculptor Keith Haring. Previously, the streetwear label Supreme, the graphic design duo M/M and the embroidery maison Lesage also reinterpreted Lacoste’s chic sportswear. These eclectic and seductive collaborations allow the French label to reinterpret its heritage with great creativity.
