British artist Angelica Hicks has collaborated for the first time with the Italian house Gucci on a series of drawings for a collection of limited edition t-shirts. The eccentric and ironic creative approach of her illustrations instantly seduced Alessandro Michele, artistic director of the house, when he discovered her work on Instagram. The young illustrator has hijacked the codes and the aesthetics of the house on 11 t-shirts, all in the non-literal manner that marks her style.

A funny and whimsical style she’s been working on for several years. Indeed Angelica Hicks, with her certain pedigree (she’s the daughter of Ashley Hicks, famous architect and second cousin to the Prince of Wales and Allegra Hicks, a society interior and fashion designer), was already sketching the fashion elite while studying at UCL in London. After collaborations with Elle, Chanel and Tory Burch, her satirical vision of couture and pop culture has continued to seduce the beautiful people she illustrates with humour. She recently became the official illustrator for Porter Magazine as well as the dating app “Bumble”.
Gucci x Angelica Hicks collection composed by 11 differents T-shirts and only 100 pieces of each will be available from 25th may.
