More often edgy than shocking, the Jacquemus campaigns rarely play the irreverence card. And yet to accompany his fall-winter 20-2018 collection entitled Pour l'Amour d'un Gitan, the designer shows a naked couple entwined around each other on a beach. There are no clothes in the image. Shot by David Luraschi, with whom he’d already collaborated at the OpenMyMed Festival, this campaign imbued with poetry is more about offering a glimpse into the designer’s world than reflecting on the collection and his creations: “I wanted to create a timeless image of two people embracing each other. With no clothes or accessories, just two bodies under a parasol, on a chair,” explains Simon Porte Jacquemus.
So, do we really need shows clothes to sell them today?
