Ten years ago Iris van Herpen established her own label to become one of today’s futurist fashion references. Having learnt her trade at the house of Alexander McQueen, and then made costumes for Opéra de Paris in collaboration with Benjamin Millepied, she never stops pushing the limits of science, technology and fashion. With creations printed in 3D using stereolithography (a method of cutting through material of fixed thickness), and the use of unexpected material (such as the plastron in woven metal gauze), the visual artist offers an organic fashion in a constant state of evolution. The “Transforming Fashion” exhibition at the Dallas Museum of Art, is the ideal opportunity to discover her most fascinating haute couture creations, between futurism, innovative fabrics and craftsmanship.
“Transforming Fashion”, from 21st may to 20th august at the Dallas Museum of Art, USA.
