For the Design Miami fair, taking place between the 3rd and 8th December, at the same time as the Art Basel international contemporary art fair on Miami Beach, the house of Balenciaga has joined forces with the artist, architect and designer Harry Nuriev for an eco-friendly project. The French label, currently helmed by the Georgian designer Demna Gvasalia, invited this Russian artist to reconsider the sofa, the central piece of furniture in every house. Creating a functional work of art out of old Balenciaga garments and labels, the exceptional duo is advocating environmental responsibility and hopes to encourage sustainability in the worlds of fashion and design.
