Louis Vuitton by Pharrell Williams : discover the Fall-Winter 2024-2025 fashion show

FASHION WEEK

Opening the Men's Fashion Week in Paris, Pharrell Williams' third runway show for Louis Vuitton will be presented this Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 8:00 PM at the Jardin d'acclimation.

The Louis Vuitton Fall-Winter 2024-2025 fashion show by Pharrell Williams

After a first collection that celebrated the heritage of Louis Vuitton through its famous chequered pattern, and a second inspired by the surfers of Hawaii, Pharrell Williams travelled to the other side of the Atlantic for a men's autumn-winter 2024-2025 show that exalted the richness of his native Virginia.

On Tuesday 16 January 2024, in the Jardin d'Acclimation, in a black box decorated with desert mountains, and in front of a front row including Bradley Cooper, LaKeith Standflied and Dev Hynes, the 80 or so Louis Vuitton silhouettes revealed a new facet of Western style, infused with an elegance whose refined yet impertinent allure seemed to be drawn from the imagination of the French dandy. Discover five things to remember from the Louis Vuitton men's autumn-winter 2024-2025 show.

1. A redo of the western aesthetics

With a harmonica engraved with the writing “LV Lovers” as an invitation - inspired by the slogan of the state of Virginia, “Virginia is for Lovers”, created in 1969 - Pharrell Williams gave us a first hint about his new Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2024-2025 fashion show. As a native of Virginia Beach, the American producer and creative director flooded the catwalk with references to the western aesthetics, such as cowboy hats, boots, patches, denim, Buffalo checks, plaid-styled coats... Pharrell Williams traces the origins of Western iconography back through patchwork silhouettes that unfold multiple references and tributes.

2. Elegance, bling and rhinestones

Virgil Abloh’s successor for the Louis Vuitton men’s collections has established himself as a fashion icon thanks to the bold, sophisticated looks he has designed with his wife Helen Lasichanh. Yet, he remains true to his penchant for bling and his keen eye for detail. Just like in his Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the denim is fully embroidered with flowers, adorned with topstitching or fringes, the LV monogram abounds, as well as the new Cowmooflage checkerboard pattern inspired by cowhides, the long fringes on plaid-styled coats, the thick faux-fur creations and the few stunning rhinestone looks.

3. Jewels and details with turquoises

Among the precious details that enhance this Fall/Winter 2024-2025 collection are the jewels and buttons made in genuine turquoise, inspired by the 19th-century jewelry.

4. Louis Vuitton x Timberland

Teased on Instagram a few days prior to the show, the collaboration between Timberland and Louis Vuitton has been acknowledged on the catwalk of this Fall/Winter 2024-2025 collection. Following in the footsteps of Virgil Abloh with his Louis Vuitton x Nike collaboration in 2021, Pharrell Williams called on the infamous American bootmaker dear to the hip-hop musical scene of the 1990s (Aaliyah, Wu Tang Clan, Tupac, Missy Elliott).

The iconic yellow boots worn by Rihanna and Emily Ratajkowski a few months ago are now available in ten designs, including a limited edition with golden details. The footwear version of the Speedy Millionaire bag launched last season has also made it to the catwalk.

5. Collaborations with artists from the Dakota and Lakota peoples

While this collection traces back the origins of the cowboy culture and reminds the place of African-Americans in the narrative of the American Old West (as described in the documentary Black Far West, released in 2023 by the French-German channel Arte), Pharrell Williams also gives a voice to Native American artists from the Dakota and Lakota tribes. Thus, a Speedy bag, a messenger bag, and a travel tote are embroidered with the Dakota flower, symbol of the beauty of nature, and three Keepall bags are decorated with parfleche and tipi patterns, hand-painted at Dee Jay Two Bears studios in North Dakota.
